PARKMAN NEWS—JUNE 2025 EDITION
Free fishing weekend is Saturday, May 31st through Sunday, June 1st. On these days, anyone (except those whose license has been suspended or revoked) may fish without a license. All other laws and regulations apply on these days.
The Parkman Prowlers ATV Club will meet on Monday, June 2nd at 5:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. The meeting will be followed by a potluck dinner. Membership forms will be available.
The Parkman Grange will meet on Tuesday, June 3rd at 5:00 p.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall. All are welcome to attend.
Congratulations to all the 2025 PCHS graduates. Graduation is Sunday, June 8th at 1:00 p.m., and the last day of school for SAD #4 is Friday, June 13th.
The SAD #4 District Budget Validation Referendum will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Voting will take place in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. Absentee ballots are available at the Parkman Town Office. The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED for business on Election Day.
The Board of Selectmen will meet on Thursday, June 12th and Thursday, June 26th at 5:30 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.
Applications for the Minnie Bridge Scholarship ($500) are available at the Parkman Town Office and at the bulletin board on the Grange porch. This scholarship is for 2nd year higher education students in the SAD #4 area. Please mail the completed applications and all required materials to the Parkman Grange, PO BOX 114, Guilford, ME 04443 or drop them off at the Parkman Town Office. The deadline to apply is Saturday, June 14, 2025.
The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED on Thursday, June 19th, in observation of Juneteenth National Independence Day.
Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance, or you can have your agent email proof to townofparkman@yahoo.com, or fax to (207) 876-9704.
Building permits are available at the Parkman Town Office.

The Parkman Historical Society will have their Spring/Summer Meeting on Tuesday, June 24th at 5:00 p.m. at 9 Crow Hill Road in Parkman. The topic is their new location so don’t miss the discussion. For more details, please contact Sue Griffith at (207) 749-9333.
ATV registrations expire June 30, 2025. Stickers are now available. The cost to register new and renewal ATV’s is $75.00 for Maine residents and $120.00 for non-residents. ATV’s DO NOT require a title. If you are registering an ATV for the first time, please bring in a bill of sale or proof of sales tax paid at a dealer. If you are renewing an ATV, we request that you present a previous registration to ensure the correct machine is registered. It is unlawful to registered an oversized ATV in Maine. An ATV is considered oversized if it exceeds 65 inches in width/and or weighs more than 2,000 pounds, based on the manufacturer's specifications.

If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at (207) 876-3730. The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.
The Transfer Station is open on Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. Please have your Transfer Station sticker visible to the attendants.

The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

The 2025 boat registrations are available. If you are registering a boat for the first time, you will need a bill of sale or proof of sales tax paid at a dealer at time of registration. The registration fee is based on the length of the boat and horsepower. Boats also have excise tax. Registration fees have increased for boats. Boats DO NOT require a title. If you are re-registering your boat, please bring in your old registration. You also need to bring your current driver’s license or unexpired State ID at time of registration.
The new Pine Tree Plates are available. If you would like to reserve the plate number that you currently have (Vanity and Low digits must be reserved) to be put on the Pine Tree Plate please do so as soon as possible online at www.maine.gov/online/reservemyplate. There is a $25.00 one-time fee for reserving your plate number. If you have already reserved your plate, you will receive your new plate in the mail before your registration is due to run out. You will need to bring in your new license plate along with the letter you receive with the plates. If you do not care for the Pine Tree Plate, there is also a No Tree plate available for the same price. We are now requesting that you bring in your old registration every time you re-register a vehicle.
The fee for a marriage license is $40.00. Marriage applications are valid 90 days from issue. Both the bride and groom must sign the application in the presence of a clerk at the Parkman Town Office. If this is not your first marriage, please bring in a copy of your divorce decree or a death certificate when completing the application. Please note that you must call the Parkman Town Office at (207) 876-3730 to schedule an appointment to obtain your marriage license.
When doing a private sale, if there are two names on the prior title you must have both signatures on the back of the title to register the vehicle. If you are doing a title in two names at time of registration, both parties must be present to sign the title in front of the clerk. Please note that vehicles with a model year of 1999 and older are exempt from a certificate of title.
White’s Family Redemption is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday. Please call (207) 876-2681 with any questions. They are located at 85 Crow Hill Road in Parkman.
The Sangerville Food Cupboard (Universalist Unitarian Church) is open the first and third Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. All are welcome. They are located at the corner of Church and Main Street in downtown Sangerville. For more information, please call (207) 277-4221.
The Cambridge Community Clothes Closet is open the first and third Wednesday of each month from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the first and third Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. ”The Great Treasure Hunt” Summer Bible Camp will be held at the Parkman Baptist Church on Thursday, July 10th, 17th, 25th, and 31st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is a free program for kids ages 5 to 12. Younger children are welcome to attend if accompanied by an adult. Kids will enjoy games, crafts, drama, Bible stories, songs, and yummy snacks.
