PARKMAN NEWS—MARCH 2026 EDITION

  • The Democratic Caucus will be held on​​ Sunday, March 1st​​ at 1:00 p.m. at the UUCSDF Church in Sangerville, located at the corner of Church and Main Street in downtown Sangerville.

 

  • The Parkman Grange will meet on​​ Tuesday, March 3rd​​ at 5:00 p.m. at Paul and Cheryl Yale’s home, 661 Wellington Road in Parkman. ​​ All are invited to come.​​ 

 

  • Remember to Spring Ahead on​​ Sunday, March 8th​​ at 2:00 a.m. ​​​​ Set your clocks ahead one hour.

 

  • The​​ Parkman Trailblazers​​ Snowmobile Club will meet on​​ Tuesday, March 10th​​ at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

 

  • SAD #4 will have an Early Release Day on​​ Thursday, March 12th, dismissal is at 11:30 a.m. and there will be no school on​​ Friday, March 13th​​ as it is a Teacher Workshop Day.

 

  • The Board of Selectmen will meet on​​ Thursday, March 12th​​ and​​ Thursday, March 26th​​ at 5:30 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Parkman Historical Society will have a supper meeting on​​ Friday, March 20th​​ at 5:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

 

  • The annual Town Meeting for the Town of Parkman will be held on​​ Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall. ​​ Please bring your annual Town Report to the Town Meeting. ​​ The reports are expected to be available by March 14th​​ at the Transfer Station, KC’s Country Store, and at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ The Parkman Grange will host a Town Meeting lunch at noon. ​​ They will offer a variety of soups, sandwiches, and desserts. ​​ The lunch is by​​ donation,​​ and all proceeds go to the Grange.

 

  • Fox Den Wildlife Rehab​​ is now open at 935 North Dexter Road in Parkman. ​​ Sonia Sanborn deals with opossums, skunks, raccoons, foxes, bobcats, and coyotes. ​​ She can be reached at​​ (207)​​ 343-0455.

  • Lance Johnson is the Code Enforcement Officer and Plumbing Inspector for the Town of Parkman. ​​ He can be reached at (207) 876-2681.

 

  • Just a friendly reminder that all motorcycles expire March 31st.

 

  • If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at (207) 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

 

  • The Transfer Station is open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ Please have your Transfer Station sticker visible to the attendant inside of your vehicle.

 

  • Fire permits can be obtained at KC’s Country Store: (207) 876-4111 and from Danny White at 85 Crow Hill Road: (207) 876-2681. ​​ Please do not call Danny before 8:00 a.m.​​ to obtain a fire permit.

 

  • Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. ​​ The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance, or you can have your agent email proof to​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com​​ or fax to (207) 876-9704.

 

  • The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

  • Applications for the Minnie Bridge Scholarship ($500) will be available at the annual Town Meeting for the Town of Parkman, and after that at the Parkman Town Office and at the bulletin board on the Grange Porch. ​​ This scholarship is for those who have completed at least one year of higher education students in the SAD #4 area. ​​ Please mail completed applications and all required materials to the Parkman Grange, PO Box 114, Guilford, ME ​​ 04443 or drop them off at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ The deadline to apply is​​ Friday, July 24, 2026.

  • The Cambridge Community Clothes Closet is open the first and third Wednesday of each month from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the first and third Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ They are in the basement of the Cambridge Baptist Church, 9 North​​ Road in Cambridge. ​​ All clothing is free. ​​ For more information, please call (207) 277-3234.

 

  • White’s Family Redemption​​ will start Spring Hours in March. ​​ They will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday. ​​ They can be reached at (207) 876-2681 if you have any questions. ​​ They are located at 85 Crow Hill Road in Parkman.

 

  • The Sangerville Food Cupboard (Universalist Unitarian Church) is open the first and third Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. ​​ All are welcome. ​​ They are located at the corner of Church and Main Street in downtown Sangerville. ​​ For more information, please call (207) 277-4221.

 

  • When doing a private sale, if there are two names on the prior title you must have both signatures on the back of the title to register the vehicle. ​​ If you are doing a title in two names at time of registration, both parties must be present to sign the title in front of the clerk. ​​ Please note that vehicles with a model year of​​ 2000 and older​​ are exempt from a certificate of title.

 

  • The fee for a marriage license is $40.00. ​​ Marriage applications are valid 90 days from issue. ​​ Both the bride and groom must sign the application in the presence of a clerk at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ If this is not your first marriage, please bring in a copy of your divorce decree or a death certificate when completing the application. ​​ Please note that you must call the Parkman Town Office at (207) 876-3730 to schedule an appointment to obtain your marriage license.

  • GRANGE EVENTS SAVE THE DATES: ​​ The Parkman Grange will​​ be​​ having their annual Daddy Daughter dance on​​ Saturday, April 11th​​ from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ​​ The 24th​​ Mother’s Day Tea will be held on​​ Saturday, May 9th​​ from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​​​ The guest of honor this year is Katie Landry.

 

  • Fishing licenses have increased to $32.00 for 2026 licenses, and combination hunting/fishing licenses have increased to $50.00.

 

  • When re-registering your vehicle, please bring in your previous registration. ​​ By May 31, 2026, everyone with a chickadee plate should have switched to the Pine Tree Plate. ​​ We​​ have limited stock of the No Tree Plates so you should call ahead to see if we have them in stock.

 

  • The 2026 boat registration and stickers have been delayed. ​​ We hope to have further updates in the April newsletter.

 

  • When registering anything in the MOSES system (ATV’s, Boats, Snowmobiles, Recreational licenses) please bring in your prior registration and a valid driver’s license/unexpired State ID at time of registration.
