PARKMAN NEWS—FEBRUARY 2024 EDITION
The Planning Board will meet on Thursday, February 1st at 6:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.
The Democratic Caucus for the towns of Abbot, Guilford, Kingsbury, Parkman, Sangerville, and Wellington will be held on Sunday, February 4th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Piscataquis Community Secondary School. The Board of Selectmen will meet on Wednesday, February 7th following the Budget Committee meeting and Thursday, February 22nd at 5:30 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.
The Parkman Prowlers ATV Club will have a winter get together on Monday, February 12th at 5:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. This will be a potluck event, and all are welcome to come hang out and have a good time!
The Parkman Trailblazers Snowmobile Club will meet on Tuesday, February 13th at 6:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. All are welcome to attend. If you would like to join the club membership forms are available at the Parkman Town Office. The fee is $30 for a family membership, and $50 for a business membership.
SAD #4 school vacation week is February 19th through February 23rd. There will be an early release day on Friday, February 16th, dismissal is at 11:30 a.m.
The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED on Monday, February 19th in observance of Presidents’ Day.

The Parkman Grange Hall is closed for the winter and will reopen for the Town Meeting in March.

White’s Family Redemption is open Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. They are located on Crow Hill Road in Parkman. They can be reached at (207) 876-2681 for questions and they will take bottles and cans outside of regular hours if you call ahead.
Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance, or you can have your insurance agent email proof to townofparkman@yahoo.com.
New Title Law: Vehicles that are 26 model years and older will be exempt from the requirement for a certificate of title (1998 and older effective 01/01/2024).
The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
ATTENTION: The winter sand shed by the old barn at the Parkman Town Office is for Parkman residents only, personal use only, no commercial. Please limit sand to 2 five-gallon buckets per storm. Thank you!

The Cambridge Community Clothes Closet is open the first and third Wednesday of each month from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the first and third Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. The Transfer Station is open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. Please have your Transfer Station sticker available to show the attendants.
The 2024 snowmobile registration and stickers are available at the Parkman Town Office. The fee is $60.00 for residents, and $124.00 for non-residents. If you are registering your snowmobile for the first time, please bring in a bill of sale or proof of sales tax paid from a dealer at the time of registration. Snowmobiles DO NOT require a title.
The Sangerville Food Cupboard (Universalist Unitarian Church) is open the first and third Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. All are welcome. They are located at the corner of Church and Main Street in downtown Sangerville. For more information, please call (207) 277-4221.

If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at (207) 876-3730. The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.
When doing a private sale, if there are two names on the prior title you must have both signatures on the back of the title to register the vehicle. If you are doing a title in two names at time of registration, both parties must be present to sign the title in front of the clerk.
The Presidential Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. Polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Absentee ballots will be available at the Parkman Town Office in early February. The Parkman Town Office will be CLOSED for business on Election Day.
The Annual Town Meeting for the Town of Parkman will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall. The Registrar of Voters will be at the Parkman Grange Hall at 10:00 a.m. Please bring your annual Town Report with you to the Town Meeting. The reports are anticipated to be available by March 9th at the Parkman Town Office, KC’s Country Store, and the Transfer Station.
