PARKMAN NEWS—JUNE 2026 EDITION

 

  • The​​ Parkman Prowlers​​ ATV Club will meet on​​ Monday, June 1st​​ at 5:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. ​​ This is a potluck meeting, and all are welcome to​​ attend. ​​ Membership forms are available at the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Parkman Grange will meet on​​ Tuesday, June 2nd​​ at 5:00 p.m. at the Parkman Grange Hall. ​​ All are welcome to attend. ​​ 

 

  • Congratulations to all the 2026 PCHS graduates. ​​ Graduation is​​ Sunday, June 7th​​ at 1:00 p.m., and the last day of school for SAD #4 is​​ Thursday, June 11th.

 

  • Mandy Gray is the new Animal Control Officer for the Town of Parkman. ​​ She can be reached at (207) 717-0457. ​​ She deals with domestic animals only.

 

  • The SAD #4 District Budget Validation Referendum and the State Primary Election will be held on​​ Tuesday, June 9, 2026. ​​ Polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ​​ Voting will take place in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. ​​ Absentee ballots are available at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ for business on Election Day.

 

  • The Board of Selectmen will meet on​​ Thursday, June 11th​​ and​​ Thursday, June 25th​​ at 5:00 p.m. in the library of the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • The Parkman​​ Historical Society will meet on​​ Friday, June 12th​​ at 5:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Parkman Town Office. ​​ This is a supper meeting, and all are welcome to attend.

 

  • The Transfer Station is open on Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ Please have your Transfer Station sticker visible to the attendants. ​​ The re-use building at the Transfer Station is for personal use only, no resale permitted.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Friday, June 19th​​ in observance of Juneteenth National Independence Day.

 

  • Fox Den Wildlife Rehab​​ is located at 935 North Dexter Road in Parkman. ​​ Sonia Sanborn deals with opossums, skunks, raccoons, foxes, bobcats, and coyotes. ​​ She can be reached at (207) 343-0455.

  • Building permits are available at the Parkman Town Office.

 

  • Lance Johnson is the Code Enforcement Officer and Plumbing Inspector for the Town of Parkman. ​​ He can be reached at (207) 446-5459.

 

  • If you need a certified copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate please call ahead to the Parkman Town Office at (207) 876-3730. ​​ The fee is $15.00 for one copy, and $6.00 for any additional copies of the same record requested at the same time.

 

  • The Parkman Baptist Church holds worship services every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome to attend.

 

  • The Town of Cambridge is hosting a Fraud Awareness and Prevention Workshop on​​ Wednesday, June 24th​​ from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Cambridge Town Office, 202 Ripley Road in Cambridge. ​​ This is a free workshop, and all are welcome to attend.

 

  • Proof of insurance is required to register all vehicles. ​​ The Town Office accepts electronic proof of insurance, or you can have your agent email proof to​​ townofparkman@yahoo.com​​ or fax to (207) 876-9704.

 

  • White’s Family Redemption​​ is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday. ​​ They are located at 85 Crow Hill Road in Parkman. ​​ Please note that their dog is getting surgery on June 1st​​ and they will be leaving the motion detector on so​​ please do not go to their house. ​​ Please call (207) 876-2681 or text (207) 343-3052.

  • When re-registering your vehicle, please bring in your previous registration. ​​ By now, you should have switched to the Pine Tree plate if you had a chickadee plate previously. ​​ If you still have a chickadee plate on your vehicle then your registration has expired.

 

  • ATV registrations expire​​ June 30, 2026. ​​ We do not currently have stickers for renewal of ATV’s. ​​ We anticipate getting them before the June 30th​​ deadline and will announce when we have them via our website and Facebook page. ​​ We currently have a limited supply of stickers for new ATV registrations. ​​ The cost to register new and renewal ATV’s is $75.00 for Maine residents and $120.00 for non-residents. ​​ ATV’s DO NOT require a title or proof of insurance. ​​ If you are registering an ATV for the first time, please bring in a bill of sale or proof of sales tax paid at a dealer. ​​ If you are renewing an ATV, we request that you present a previous registration to ensure the correct machine is registered. ​​ It is unlawful to register an oversized ATV in Maine. ​​ An ATV is considered oversized if it exceeds 65 inches in width/and or weighs more than 2,000 pounds, based on the manufacturer’s specifications. ​​ 

 

  • Fire permits can be obtained at KC’s Country Store: (207) 876-4111 and from Danny White at 85 Crow Hill Road: (207) 876-2681. ​​ Please do not call Danny before 8:00 a.m. to obtain a fire permit.

 

  • The Cambridge Community Clothes Closet is open the first and third Wednesday of each month from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the first and third Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. ​​ They are in the basement of the Cambridge Baptist Church, 9 North Road in Cambridge. ​​ All clothing is free. ​​ For more information, please call (207) 277-3234.

 

  • Applications for the Minnie Bridge Scholarship ($500) are available at the Parkman Town Office and at the bulletin board on the Grange porch. ​​ This scholarship is for students who have completed at least one year of higher education in the SAD #4 area. ​​ Please mail completed applications and all required materials to the Parkman Grange, PO BOX 114, Guilford, ME 04443 or drop them off at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ The deadline to apply is​​ Friday, July 24, 2026.

 

  • The fee for a marriage license is $40.00. ​​ Marriage applications are valid 90 days from issue. ​​ Both the bride and groom must sign the application in the presence of a clerk at the Parkman Town Office. ​​ If this is not your first marriage, please bring in a copy of your divorce decree or a death certificate when completing the application. ​​ Please note that you must call the Parkman Town Office at (207) 876-3730 to schedule an appointment to obtain your marriage license.

 

  • SAVE THE DATE: “Creation Station” Summer Bible Camp will be held at the Parkman Baptist Church​​ August 3rd​​ through August 7th​​ from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ​​ This is a free program for kids ages 5 to 12. ​​ There will be games, contests, Bible stories, songs, drama, crafts, and snacks. ​​ There will be a giant water slide and water games on one of those days. ​​ For more information, please contact Yvonne Davis at (207) 717-5929.

  • When registering anything in the MOSES system (ATV’s, Boats, Snowmobiles, Recreational licenses) please bring in your prior registration and a valid driver’s license/unexpired State ID at time of registration.

 

  • The Parkman Town Office will be​​ CLOSED​​ on​​ Friday, July 3rd​​ in observance of Independence Day.

 

  • The 2026 boat registrations are available. ​​ If you are registering a boat for the first time, you will need a bill of sale or proof of sales tax paid at a dealer at time of registration. ​​ Registration fee is based on length of boat and horsepower. ​​ Boats DO NOT require a title or proof of insurance. ​​ If you are re-registering your boat, please bring in your old registration.

 

  • The​​ Sangerville Food Cupboard (Universalist Unitarian Church) is open the first and third Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. ​​ All are welcome. ​​ They are located at the corner of Church and Main Street in downtown Sangerville. ​​ For more information, please call (207) 277-4221.
